Daniel and Ashley met the way all great 21st-century love stories begin: on a dating app, armed with questionable bios and a healthy dose of skepticism. After matching in 2022, they started texting - a lot. Somewhere between small talk and too-much-information, they launched into an increasingly chaotic game of truth or dare.
At one point, she dared him to mix every condiment in his fridge and eat it. Without a second thought, he proceeded to create a truly unholy concoction, and sent video proof. Not to be outdone, he dared her to take a photo of herself planking in public.
That feeling of acceptance that can only come with someone matching your child-like sense of humor was what prompted these two to go on their first date.
In 2024, Daniel, Ashley and her dog Meeko all moved in together to a small home in Potrero Hill, San Francisco. A number of movie marathons, Bay Area excursions, and late night Pho dinners later, Daniel proposed to Ashley outside her childhood home in Palo Alto on January 26th, 2025.
Daniel still likes to mix random refrigerator ingredients together, but nowadays they usually end up as a margarita.
